WILLIAM ROY
There are no shortcuts. Forget the magic exercise infomercials. Diets don’t work. These are things I want any potential client to know right away. Any change you want to make physically must be made mentally first. This applies to weight loss, muscle gain, or performance enhancement.
I grew up an overweight child. I can relate to all the mental and physical hardships that come with being overweight. And I can tell you that they can all be overcome. I had to change my lifestyle. The way I ate, the time I spent in the gym, and the sacrifices I had to make in my life in order to be successful. Once I was mentally ready to change, the physical part came easy. What I never anticipated was the confidence, work ethic, and relentless attitude that transforming myself created. It led me to multiple certifications with my first one coming at the age of 21. I became manager of my first gym by the age of 23. And now hold a managerial position with the Rochester Athletic Club after joining the team in 2011. At 29 years old, I can look back at the decision I made to transform myself 12 years ago and say it was the single greatest moment of my life. It gave me what can never be bought or given. It has to be earned; a mindset where only success becomes acceptable and failure is only temporary.
