CHAI SOCIETY

Some have referred to us as “empty nesters” since our group is made up largely of congregants whose children are finished with high school.   However, we also have as members some who are “fortyish” or older.  We choose and plan our own social, cultural, religious and educational programs, and have enjoyed renewing old friendships and making new ones.  Our group has gone to the Rockefeller Estate, the Eldridge Street Synagogue, the Jewish Heritage Museum and Ellis Island. We've had brunch at Xavier's, dinner and a show at a Russian nightclub, attended Rockland Boulders baseball games, had potluck dinners, cocktail parties, breakfasts, a program on "Speaking to Your Adult Children”.  We begin the year with a Members’ Breakfast when the group discusses activities and sets an agenda for the year.  This year we will dine at a Chinese restaurant in December, play Military Bridge in March and have a tour of the 9/11 Memorial in the spring.
