A NEW RELIGIOUS SCHOOL PROGRAM AT TEMPLE BETH SHOLOM INFUSING THE MORAL AND SOCIAL VALUES OF THE JEWISH TRADITION INTO OUR EVERYDAY LIVES

This year, we will be introducting a brand new curriculum into our religious school that aims to help our young people begin to learn, practice and understand the moral and social skills both embedded in our tradition and needed more than ever in today's world.  The program - which begins in Nursery School, is highlighted in Fifth Grade and continues through High School - will include many opportunities for families to re-enforce the concepts being learned in religious school at home.  This program is for young people, but it is absolutely meant to be utilized by parents.  According to the Jewish tradition, a

 

As a community focaused on ensuring that the link between our daily lives and Jewish lives are intertwined, Temple Beth Sholom is honored to dedicate this program to the memory of Howard Simons.  Howie understood that the synagogue could be a home to teach young people the importance 0f caring for one another, being there for one another and always thinking about one another.  Through class sessions, at-home sessions and family education forums, the Howard Simons Mensch Program will become a staple of Temple Beth Sholom's ongoing vision of a more compassionate society filled with shalom or peace.
